Reimagining Yonge Street: Environmental Assessment Study

The stretch of Yonge Street between Sheppard Avenue and the Finch Hydro Corridor, known as North York Centre, has undergone substantial growth in recent years. It is an important destination with a concentration of employment, retail and residential uses. As a result of the area's vitality, City Staff have been reviewing opportunities to renew and improve aspects of the streetscape in need of an overhaul. There is potential to enhance Yonge Street as a multi-modal road and introduce design elements such as separated bike lanes, wider sidewalks, additional street furniture and landscaping. Depending on the options selected, this may mean a reduction of vehicle lanes (from six to four) or on-street parking.

As neighbours of the area and users of the street, your feedback is important. I encourage you to review presentation materials from the most recent open house, and send any comments to the project staff.
