Duncan Creek Trail and Pedestrian Bridge

As of Summer 2016, staff are scheduled to begin work on the extension and alignment of the Duncan Creek Trail. This project will extend the existing trail from its current terminus—east of Leslie St. and just south of Steeles Ave—along the east boulevard of Leslie St to connect with the Don Trail on the west side.

The new section of trail, including restoration plantings, is anticipated for completion by the end of this summer. It will be about 500m long and 3.5m wide. In order to accommodate the trail crossing at Leslie St, a new traffic signal will also be installed.

To complement the trail extension, a replacement pedestrian bridge southeast of Duncan Creek Park joining Cliffwood Rd to Francine Dr will also be constructed. This work is set to commence in late June, with completion projected for early September.

Enhancements to the McNicoll Park Soccer Field

I've been delighted to hear some great feedback on the new synthetic soccer field at McNicoll Park. Now, I'm pleased to report that the new electronic scoreboard I requested has been installed just in time for the spring/summer season.

As the field is available by permit only, residents are reminded to check with the Permits Office at 416-395-6004 for booking inquiries. You may also contact the Hillcrest Village Soccer club at 416-497-2323 for youth player openings.
