The spectacular new design includes community and recreation facilities, an aquatics centre, a Toronto Public Library branch and a child care centre. The fantastic new park includes an artificial-turf field, public art, a dog park, a skating area that converts into a water-spray pad in the summer, and a green space for events, play and relaxation.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and see the most recent designs for these fantastic new amenities coming to our community.
Cummer Park Community Centre Update
The pool has now re-opened, with the major upgrades to the deck space and change rooms complete. Additional improvements will continue over the coming year.
Cummer Park also offers an option to join the fitness centre, where you can participate in various classes including: Cardio, Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi. If you haven't already, I hope you will take some time to visit the centre and see the changes. If you're not familiar with the facilities, you can request a tour. Parks and Recreation staff are on hand to assist you.
Update: Tackling Traffic Congestion
As many of you know from our meetings in the Ward and the motion passed at City Council last term, Councillor Shiner has been working hard to tackle this issue. The Councillor had a groundbreaking study approved to look at traffic impacts along the Sheppard Avenue East Corridor. Now, in his new role as Chair of Planning and Growth Management, Councillor Shiner has called for an additional city-wide review to deal with the traffic impacts of development on our roadways.
